I compost, and have done so for years. you can do it small, it just takes longer! first and formost NO MEAT OR MEAT PRODUCTS!!!!!!!!!!!! also no dairy! (but eggshells are splendid!) citrus peels do not compost well, but virtually everything else in your kitchen will compost very nicely. many coffee shops actually will give away grounds which are nice in your compost. grass clippings and corn husks make a nice nuetralizer if you need it. occasionally adding lightweight cardboard or paper or newspaper with not much print on it can help dry out a wet compost. at home I have the ability to add dried horse manure occasionally (never add wet and NEVER add manure from a carnivore or omnivore). I also sometimes buy fishing worms and put them in.
