Yes you can skip ahead several pages on the Sony (you helped me learn something!!) you just use the numbered buttons on the right to select the page number you want to go to. I will warn you, the pages do change as the font gets bigger, as someone already mentioned.
And yes, The 505 has a landscape mode (I learned how to do that just now too!)
