Wallcraft,

Many of the independently published authors who I am familiar with have published their books on both Kindle and MobiPocket. You are correct in saying that there are some publishers who won't publish their eBooks using MobiPocket. But most of the POD publishers leave it to the author to prepare their eBooks. In the case of Elfhunter, Authorhouse is one of the publishers who doesn't offer a Kindle book submission service. This means the author is the one who prepared her Kindle book. There is no reason why she can't publish her book on MobiPocket, since the decision is hers to make and not her publisher. Barring some contractual obligation, I am quite sure that if enough readers were to request it, she would happily publish her book on MobiPocket. After all, authors write books to be read by as many people possible.
