Have you ever had a character in a public park only to realize that save for a few shrubs you have no idea what's there? Or in an apartment that you can't visualize beyond a living room and a couch? I have! Some people SEE everything their character does and are right there in the setting with them. Others like me are barely aware of their own surroundings half the time.
The internet is a great tool for finding floor layouts of actual houses as well as maps for those pesky parks and such. Now I spend a little time (maybe too much) looking at furnished apartments and deciding which best fit my characters. My fight scenes and so forth are going to be a lot more detailed now that I can locate my characters in the rooms they inhabit!
