That's actually a very good idea. Throwing in the ebook with the hardback is just like Blu Rays and DVDs that now often come with an digital copy of the movie for free.
It's a nice bonus, and can't hurt sales at all.
I also agree with paperbacks. I mainly got an e-book reader as I hated buying books (mainly paper backs) that I'd read once and then either have cluttering up the house, or hassle with selling them or donating them/giving them to some one (or hassle with the library). I much prefer just buying an ebook to read once and not have to worry about it afterward. So the key is to just have ebook costs around the same as mass market paperbacks.
