For an example of an extreme divergence of pronunciation, my boss' wife is a Brit. She belongs to a club of British Ladies here, they get together and drink. While we call July 4 "Independence Day," their club meets and pronounces it as "Happy Riddance Day."


EDIT: I changed pronounciation again, can't seem to stop misspelling it.
