Hmmm. That last one doesn't quite work. How about:

"By name a p-shrynk, who'd rather spin yarns,
tho' to date a big zero my tall tale earns,
so I'll tell of your travels
and now of your unravels"
thought Hugo and Lefty, "oh darns!"
