Well, Tim and I have always loved rock collecting and had a pretty good collection. We also love jewelry - he buys me some really unique stones and settings. Then last fall, we went on a rockhounding vacation and came back with 13 lbs of amethysts, quartzes, garnets, etc., and wondered what to do with them. So we got involved with AMLS (Alabama Mineral and Lapidary Society) and started making and trading gemstone jewelry. It has sort of escalated since then. The 30th thru June 6, we will be at William Holland Lapidary College becoming (hopefully) a faceter (me) and silversmith (Tim). Fun!!

We love going mining and pulling out boxfuls of sparklies and pretty rocks, right out of the ground. I finally broke down and bought myself a pair of steel toed boots to help me get in and out of the pits. FUN!!

Soon, we hope to make a website and sell sparklies over the internet. For now, I'm just basically wearing new stuff to work and selling it off my neck/ears/fingers/wrists to anyone who wants it.
