True, but that's only an issue for us Avid readers. Not for the average Joe who just reads a handful of books a year, and rarely ever reads for more than an hour or two at a stretch.

Such people would never buy a dedicated reader, as it would be stupid purchase for them (like someone who hardly ever listens to music buying an iPod).

But something like the rumored iPod tablet that people could use for Internet, movies, music, various Apps etc. and also read the occasional book on would be more appealing to them.

And there are many more people like that than there are avid readers in today's society.

Heck, I even read a decent amount compared to most people I know (though very little relative to most people here) and would be fine with something that's battery only lasted 6-10 hours. The e-ink being easy on the eyes is the main reason I wanted an e-reader as I already stare at LCD pc/laptop screens for hours every day.

But I seldom read for more than a couple hours and don't mind packing a charger when traveling so the battery life issue doesn't bother much one way or the other.
