Good plan! Actually, NoVa has plenty of parks and good picnicking places, including parks with covered meeting spaces (and BBQ grills-- I'll bring the brats! When I say "Hillshire," you say "Farms!"). I'd bet we could find something really nice (if the weather permits, or course).
