Welcome! Self-scanned books on a 7" screen are a fun kind of pain.
Two free tools aimed at exactly those problems, in case you haven't tried them:
- ScanTailor Advanced: splits two-page spreads, deskews, crops the margins and turns yellowed pages into clean black and white. Doing that first makes every later step better.
- k2pdfopt: re-cuts the cleaned PDF to fit the Go 7 screen, so you can read without zooming and panning.
If you want text that reflows instead of page images, OCRmyPDF adds a text layer, and from there it can be turned into an EPUB. Tesseract has a Korean model, though vertical text is still hit and miss.
What's your scanning setup, a flatbed or a phone/camera rig?
