Well, the locking of the app in the Finder seems to have stopped any further updating. Only downside I can detect is my Mac asking me if the app is okay to open every time I launch it. Small price to pay I guess.
I got a three-day license from Epubor and tested it with some kfx-zip books. It decrypted them as hoped. The question is whether I intend to buy more books from Amazon or send my business elsewhere. I'm leaning toward the latter.
