I've added a downloadable M4B sample to the site so you can check the exported file before installing Elmren Voice. I'm the developer. It is a 34-second sample based on The Tale of Peter Rabbit, exported by the app, with three chapter markers. It is an illustration of the file format, not a complete audiobook or a new app release.

For Mac writers and readers who have a chapter they want to listen to, the first test can be small: import one short DOCX or EPUB you wrote or have permission to use, choose a built-in voice, export M4B, then open it in an M4B-compatible player. For revision, listen for awkward wording or repeated phrases. Cloning is optional.

The short-chapter steps, existing EPUB-to-M4B tutorial, sample download and Mac trial are together here:

Current requirements: Apple Silicon M1 or newer, macOS 13+. The standard trial is 7 days / 120 synthesis minutes; a license is $39.99 once for one Mac. Speech generation runs locally; initial downloads and license checks need internet.

If this fits a task you already have, I'd like to hear whether you could export and open your first chapter, or where you got stuck. Please keep your manuscript private; no public review is needed. These are local listening files, with no promise of ACX or Audible acceptance.
