I solved this by using my own access point (you can get a cheap GL.iNet and easily configure it), and configuring it to block all traffic except for traffic to kindlemodding.org. In your case, using the library, perhaps you could do this - break out of the initial loop in the library (via the mechanism shown), then leave the library and go home and connect normally through a saved connection? If not, I recommend a cheap AP.
