Several reviews have mentioned that the 2026 Kindles are designed to allow battery replacement. Not the open door and swap battery that some people still seem to in love with but you can open the case and replace the battery without needing specialized and/or proprietary tools. One description was basically just like replacing a Kobo battery using the iFixit documentation.
