ADE 4.5 seems to have no problem with it. But Readest v. 0.12.8 / Based on Edge 153 don't like it, it seems.

IIRC the xlink:-thing is deprecated, but isn't it only in SVG 2, not SVG 1.1 that's used in epubs? If so, I should think the usage-recommendation in epubcheck is an error. Personally, I won't follow it any time soon, if ever.
