Another Fantasy novel I would recommend is "Gloriana," by Michael Moorcock. This is VERY much in the mold of Mervyn Peake's "Gormenghast" trilogy which is also very Dickensian.


OT:

The Gormenghast books are incredible, but do not fit into this thread.
