For anyone finding this thread who would prefer to stay in the regular Kobo/Nickel interface, I have released an early beta of KoboOPDS. It browses OPDS catalogs, downloads books wirelessly and imports them into the normal Kobo library. It runs from NickelMenu and does not replace the standard reader with KOReader.

The first tested device is a Libra Colour, so feedback from a Libra 2 would be very welcome:
