I created a new ByteBoons account without that checkbox, and unsurprisingly it doesn't open my previously bought (and already fulfilled) books: it gives the same message as above, that the licence was already fulfilled by another user. I sent them a message with all the details, they replied asking for screenshots. I'm now waiting.
I had changed my email associated with this account, so I wonder if this is why ByteBooks didn't recognize my account as existing.
I'm not extremely worried as I always disinfect my files as soon as I buy then, but it would be good to have the option to re-download my books if I need to.
I'll report back once I get a reply.

I'd tried, too, and the first time the checkbox was also saying to pin that option to use the previous ADE account, but that was pink-highlighted and didn't really allowed to check the option; trying it again worked.
Thanks @DNSB, because later it needed to re-download the acsm file I was willing to have on device.
Also, now I know that I can buy from Google Books, export them as a epub or PDF acsm file, and copy it to the device (using, in there, the mail from both adobe and ByteBooks, and the Bytebooks' password).
