In my desktop machines, the only application which I systematically use maximised is the browser (Firefox) due to the number of tabs I use, even when grouped. But I rarely share the screen between two applications. I do drag and drop files between the download tab and other tabs in the Dolphin file browser.
The Macbook has a smaller screen and for me, is not really up to sharing apps on a single screen.
I'm getting a bit tired of the latest UbuntuStudio, which has gone all-in on Wayland, making it impossible to use several helper applications which opened my main applications at defined sizes in defined desktops.
