I bought a sealed BOOX Tab X C. It worked normally for about 25 days, and then it started showing the message: “Device blocked for security reasons.”

I believe the block probably works like this: when the tablet connects to the internet, it sends unique device identifiers to BOOX’s servers, mainly the serial number and possibly the Wi-Fi adapter’s MAC address.

These identifiers act like the device’s identity. If the serial number or MAC address is on a blacklist, the server may send a command that prevents the tablet from being used.

That would explain why a factory reset did not solve the problem. A factory reset deletes accounts, apps, and settings, but it does not change the device’s serial number or hardware MAC address. As soon as the tablet reconnects to the internet, the server recognizes it again and reapplies the block.

Can anyone help me with this problem? Has anyone experienced the same issue? Could rooting the tablet make it work again? Is there any way to change the MAC address or otherwise restore access to the device?
