First question is if this is a P365 or N365. The P365 manufactured by TPV had quite a few issues which, I suspect, is why Kobo went back to Netronix for the next manufacturing batch (the N365). The basic bootloader is part of the CPU's firmware and unlikely to have corrupted. I'd tend to be more suspicious of the eMMC and incompatible software that has corrupted it's structure.

As far as I know, the plug into power for at least one hour and leave plugged in, hold down the power button for 30 seconds to force a power off regardless of the what the screen says, let go of the power button for a couple of seconds, press and hold the power button until the LED starts blinking rapidly and the manual factory reset starts is the only recovery method normally accessible.

If your computer beeps a connect/disconnect tone when you power the Clara BW on, you can try using a ADB connection which is fun to get the timing right on.
