Hello everyone,
I made a small free beta tool for XTEINK X4 users called X4 Easy Checker.
The goal is to make basic file preparation easier for beginners before transferring files to the device.
Current Beta 0.1 features:
- Estimates TXT encoding, including UTF-8 and Shift_JIS / Windows-31J
- Shows a TXT preview
- Saves a new UTF-8 copy without overwriting the original file
- Converts JPG, JPEG, PNG, and BMP images to grayscale JPEG
- Resizes images to 480×800 or 800×480 for the XTEINK X4
- Preserves the image aspect ratio and fills unused space with white
- Performs a basic EPUB file-header check and provides guidance
All processing is performed locally inside the browser. Files are not uploaded to an external server, and the tool can be used offline after downloading it.
I tested the current version on Windows 11 with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
I also transferred a converted image to an actual XTEINK X4 and confirmed that it displayed on the device.

This is a free beta and an unofficial third-party tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by XTEINK.
Beta 0.1 does not generate XTC files, fully analyze or repair EPUB files, support batch conversion, or automatically transfer files to the device.
Feedback is welcome, especially reports about files that do not work correctly. Please do not share copyrighted books or private files when reporting problems.
