The PocketBook InkPad 4 is the one I've found that seems to be closest to acceptable. But, it was introduced over 3 years ago and, from what I can see, has about half the performance of the Kobo Sage (which is something like 5 years old now and out of production, regardless of what Kobo says).

10-inch e-readers are just too big for me. Plus, I'm really sure the ol' spousal unit wouldn't be happy with it.

It looks like an iPad Mini might be workable, though I'd probably have to re-think my workflow. I'll keep it in mind.
