it worked! The account also works in ADE, which I tested as an alternate method of accessing acsm books.
Whew! That was educational. I also wrote a wiki note in Obsidian with all of the instructions from A-Z since it isn't always clear what to do at each step.
Once it works, this plugin is a godsend.

After reading your post I did the same thing, created a new account with Bytebooks. I mucked up my email address when I tried to add my Adobe Account so I had to create an account in my husbands name, so how it works I have no idea but it did. Thank you for posting your experience
