Help with jailbreaking kindle touch wifi

Hi all,

I am fairly new to this and looking for some help. I am trying to jailbreak, install MRPI, and install KUAL. Here's what I've tried so far:

1. This is a Kindle Touch Wifi, serial starting with B011, running FW 5.1.2.

2. From here, I have followed the steps and successfully got the **** JAILBREAK **** to show up at the bottom of the screen.

3. I was unsure at this point if I needed the hotfix talked about here. I dropped Update_jailbreak_hotfix_1.16.N_install.bin into the root directory, but even after restarting, "Update your Kindle" is grayed out, so I don't think I actually successfully installed the hotfix.

4. Regardless, I tried to install MRPI following the steps here.

5. Next, I attempted to install KUAL. Based on the instructions here, I attempted to use the Booklet. However, typing ;log mrpi had no effect.

6. Then I tried installing KUAL by placing the KDK-2.0.azw2 file under the documents directory. I saw KUAL listed in the library, but when I tried to open it a message popped up saying something like 'this is not made by a signed developer. contact the developer." This post suggests that I need to install DevCerts, but I wasn't sure if I should do that, so I didn't.

This is where I am stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know if I should provide more information.
