So I got an unwanted firmware upgrade...

Hi everyone

So, I did a jailbreak on my Kindle KT5 running an older firmware (5.16.4) using WinterBreak.

All was well until I turned on wifi earlier to have a look at the Calibre-KOreader sync via wifi. Turns out the Kindle did download and install an update to version 5.19.2.0.1.

Fortunately, thanks to SpringBreak, it wasn't a big deal this time, but I still wonder how the update could ever happen? I had followed the procedure to rename the OTA bins as described in https://kindlemodding.org/jailbreaki...sable-ota.html but still I got the update.

I wonder if I did something wrong and what I can do to prevent future updates. SpringBreak says that renaming the OTA binaries isn't even needed any longer, but once bitten... I have now filled up all storage but 100MB as I never need any more than that for a few books.

Any insights to what happened are highly appreciated.

Cheers,
Bebef
