Update: K4PC subsequently crashed, updated, made me re-register, has come back as "Legacy Kindle for PC", and won't allow me to download the book.

After all the confusion, what SEEMS to have happened is that when I downloaded a 7th copy, my K3 just dropped off the list. But Issybird had a different experience, so I'll try it with another book.
