I've been having the same problem on my Sage for years. And I've complained about it here too. I even factory reset it and downgraded to 4.34; but it didn't really help. Well, maybe a bit fewer skips on 4.34 than on newer firmware versions.
The buttons on my Libra 2 function perfectly.
