My guess is those who do sideload nearly exclusively sideload even when the books are bought from Kobo.
Undoubtedly there’s a spectrum from that to not at all. One which exists outside of MR as well and probably in not so dissimilar percentages. I think folks here might be surprised how rampant piracy is* even among the grandma and grandpa age bracket.
*just to be clear I’m not saying all side loaded content is pirated, but all pirated content is side loaded.
