If you are still on Windows 10, the new app will not help as it will reportedly only run on Windows 11. You can use any web browser to read, without missing much vs. Kindle for PC.

I had VM Windows 11 setup, but could not update the Kindle app to a later version still compatible with NoDRM. And in the attempts to update messed up with NoDRM prerequisites after reverting to previous version. Haven't had time or interest to fix it as it's unlikely to work for much longer.
