While it does seem to extend battery cycles somewhat, it cannot fundamentally change the fact that the Sage CPU power management simply is not very good. Part of the problem is that it also seems to burn quite a bit of battery while suspended.
As for turning off stuff you don't need, sure. To me an ebook reader is a single purpose device, so I don't really want any of those new vibe-coded "features" and addons.

Re: Koreader, I changed some options that may reduce battery use, but I see a significant different in battery usage compared to nickel. I don't see much hope for Koreader on the Sage. Plato may be lighter. I'll try that. I don't mind Nickel but I want organize books by folder rather than than dealing with metadata in Calibre.
