As I mentioned about balloon popping, the EU regulations do no require a battery door and pop-in replacement. As @Quoth mentioned, a soldering iron is not a proprietary tool. As someone who has opened a lot of Kobo ereaders and since neither a spudger nor a guitar pick (others have mentioned using credit cards and other thin plastic items) are that hard to find or use, I find your comment to be risible. Are there no how-to guides?

I do want to ask what you meant by easily removable in regards to a Kobo. Are you saying the backs are not easily removable? If so, can you name a Kobo ereader other than the Aura H2O where the back is difficult to remove?
