Metadata Editing of Integer Field - Odd Issue?

Hi all,

I use a custom column for integer data, BFsize, to manually document the base font size I set when using Convert books. I haven't done base font size changes in quite a while. I've updated to calibre 9.8 and am using touchscreen.

I can edit BFsize data manually for individual book records in library view, or in Edit metadata. In Edit Metadata > Edit metadata individually, I tap in the BFsize field (default value is Undefined) and then just type in the desired integer value, which replaces the default. As expected.

But if I have multiple books selected and do Edit metadata > Edit metadata in bulk, the default value of Undefined is displayed but I can't just type in an integer. Multiple versions of calibre ago, if I remember right, I could hit the backspace key to remove the default value of Undefined, and then I could type in the desired integer value. Now backspace won't remove the default value of Undefined. I have to tap in the BFsize field and then do Shift > Home to select Undefined before I can type in the desired integer value. Took a while to figure that out.

Obviouly this isn't a critical issue, but I'd expect to be able to type in an integer value in bulk metadata editing just like I can when editing metadata individually. Am I doing something wrong in my custom column setup?
