The new update would allow you to use any column. So for your workflow you could do this:
Mode: User-selected column rule
Column: Status
Rule: Has any value
Then those books will show up on the plugin. No need to make a tracked column.
Now since you said you have a different column for Read, do you remove the status (reading, dnf, unread) from the status column once you have finished a book?
