It is no problem to change this, but wouldn't it be confusing for users, when you add a new book into justread.app today and it will be shown as added, let's say, 2 months back?

This would only be for books synced from calibre. Since I intend syncing all my books, it wouldn't be confusing at all for me. What's confusing for me is not being able to sort by the date I got the book.
I suppose it depends on where you think the 'master' copy of your library resides. For me, that's calibre. justRead.app is a great way for me to read books in my calibre library on my iPhone. I'd like to see as much synchronisation of metadata as possible.
Unfortunately, calibre doesn't have standard columns for whether a book's been read, nor for when it was last finished. justRead.app obviously does store that data. I would be willing to change my calibre database to use columns of justRead.app's choosing to be able to sync that data with calibre as well. (I do currently have "Read" and "Finished" columns in calibre, which are currently ignore by justRead.app)
[EDIT: I see that calibre sync mapping is on the roadmap!]
