That's not entirely true - I bought a brand-new Pocketbook Inkpad X Pro (2024, Wacom/Mobius) with Android 8.1 in the middle of last year.
Back then, and even now, there is no Wacom/Mobius 10.3-inch device with frontlight - and that's more important to me than an Android number, which I don't need.
My E Ink devices are tools, and when it comes to them, I don't care how old the (Android) handle is - what matters much more to me is that it fits.
BTW: I also bought a Viwood AIPaper Reader, but not because it runs Android 16 - it’s because it’s slim and has a matte screen. I’d prefer a Moaan Inkpalm 5 Pro with a matte screen and Android 8.1, but it’s only available in China.
