Related: One thing I dislike about a cover is if it spoils the book. As an example: DC Comics did a trade paperback of The Great Darkness Saga in Legion of Super-Heroes. In the monthly comic form the story was told over several months, leading to the reveal of the villain who was a big surprise. However, in the trade paperback the cover tells you exactly who the villain was, ruining the surprise.
