It's not too much effort so long as it works first time, it's if it doesn't work and you need to fiddle around that may complicate things. Since it works with a Kobo eReader you could test it with your own eReader first and a book or two of your choice. (Just to clarify one thing, when I wrote ./obok I really meant ./obok{plus the rest of the filename, usually a version number}.py - just use tab completion to get the right name.)
