It seems that the only way to add a book or books to the library is to already have them in a folder in some app somewhere on the device. For example, I have a book in the folder called Downloads in the Apple File app. While that app will show justRead as a possible destination for the book (send to), justRead will not load it. If a Library is open in justRead how can you add one more individual book to that library? Yes, I can maneuver to a folder that has a book but when selected the book will not load. Ami missing something? This goes back to my original post on this app on the forum.

This is interesting. I think it's a different philosophy of how a reading application should work.
Some apps have their own folder where they store books. If you open a book with such an app, it copies the book into that folder and opens it from there.
justRead.app assumes that you have already organised your books into a folder, and just needs to know where you store your books. It doesn't copy books into a folder of its own.
It sounds like you'd like justRead.app to be able to display a book sent to it from anywhere, and NOT add it to the currently selected folder that justRead.app is using.
