I then deleted the books from both my device and my Amazon account, copied them from my local machine, but the error persists. Even logging into another account doesn't solve the problem. The only current solution is to restore factory settings, then immediately enable airplane mode on the home screen, and then copy the books and comics to read them normally. However, this has a very annoying problem: every time I exit reading, a registration/login window pops up. I suspect Amazon is doing this intentionally! Sorry for rambling, I just wanted to ask everyone, after updating to the latest version, how can I ensure that I can still read books and comics normally after logging into my Amazon account?
You have two or three choices. Get an older Kindle that won't support this firmware, get a device that's not a Kindle, or if it's possible, jailbreak your Kindle and install/run KOReader and read ePuib.
