I usually don't fight that much with windows.
I used to have a triple monitor setup and just moved what I wanted to a fill a single monitor.
Now that I've "downscaled" to a single 29" (flat) 2560 x 1080 I just slide a few windows over until I can simultaneously see everything.
On those occasions where I need things exactly set up I use a utility.
To view the webcam on my 3D printer I issue a single command that opens a new browser window that goes to a URL, sizes and moves to the upper right corner.
If you have "presets" you like you should look up some utility.
I'd post mine but I'd have to write up the documentation.
