If you don't mind the expense, the Epubor app automates that process (but costs money).
Folks here tend to object to Epubor because the author basically repackages other peoples's work.
But, in the right circumstances, its worth the money.

An older version (depending on how old) of K4PC will not download new Kindle eBooks and if old enough, it won't download any eBooks.
