I summarized all the user reports related to firmare 5.19.2 breaking KCC compatibility in the video below.
Initial reports starting coming in February 21, 2026
Reports still being received today on February 27, 2026, ~10 total so far
Affected devices are only devices compatible with firmware 5.19.2
Basic 11, Paperwhite 11/12, Colorsoft, Scribe, etc.
Over half involved newly purchased devices which resulted in them returning the device back to Amazon
Apparently signing out of your Amazon account solves the problem…
