When I first joined MR in 2012 I asked why there were so many Guests, there are currently 23518. The answer I got from one of the admins was: "calibre peeks at MR when it is running". No one refuted that; so, I assume it's true.
So, my
wild ass guess is that by logging on here you would have renewed your SSL certificates… which would have opened the gates for calibre.
