Are you using a monospace font, like Courier? You install it on you Kobo by creating a folder named fonts in you main directory, and placing the font files in it. You must use .ttf or .otf font files and name them properly. fontname-Regular.ttf, fontname-Bold.ttf, fontname-Italic.ttf and fontname-Bolditalic.ttf. Obviously, use the actual font name. I just tried this on my Libra 2 and it renders as expected.
