Please see my OP where I state that the same computer/cable/port has no such problem connecting to the 11th generation Kindle Paperwhite.

Also I posted the log from the "Unmounting and getting the debug info:" case which shows Calibre failing to notice the device at all.

And that when the device was mounted, Calibre only see the one MTP device.

Perhaps a fix for fussy/limited Kindles would be a "send to folder on mounted device" option. Or is this something a plugin could do?
