I back up by keeping manually created copies of my library and configuration folders on external drives and in Dropbox, and using FreeFileSync to update them whenever needed. I add new books and make changes to the existing books often, plus my main library is huge, so using the export function would be way too slow and time-consuming for me.

Installing both the libraries and the settings on a new computer from backup is pretty fast even without using the export/import function - it's a matter of just copy/pasting the relevant folders and pointing calibre to them.

I don't use the config backup plugin, as I have no need for it - using FreeFileSync is faster.
