Regarding display on window titles: that was my choice to have this redundancy. I don't mind having duplicate elements on the UI; in fact, those actually help me have quick access to actions, or see from another angle the context I am currently working.

I think the visual checkbox indicator is probably the way to go.
How about dropping the word Toggle, and changing the menu content to reflect what selecting an item will do, i.e. if library path is being shown in the status bar, the menu item would read "Hide Library Path in Status bar" etc.
