You may have seen the PR tact they're taking to quash this story (and others like it) on the
NBC Nightly News last night.
RIAA did a demo for a bunch of Legislative Aides on Capital Hill the other day of Kazaa (and let's be honest here, most of these folks were probably file-swappers themselves or had some experience with it...the average LA is between 25 and 35).
RIAA's point was that p2p services are breeding grounds for smut, and when 12 yo's look up 'Britney Spears', they're more than likely going to get back something naughty in their search results -- oftentimes mislabeled -- so you're version of "Oops I did it Again" is "Oops, what the h*!! did I download?!"
